Trillions of dollars of National debt, evey child born starts with a $39000 tax collar around their neck, 40,000,000 without health care, jobs going offshore faster than new "payroll" jobs are created, a war that has claimed 1700 lives and 20000 seriously wounded based on lies, $8.5 BILLION dollars missing from the so-called Iraq "deconstruction" fund, oil prices over $50 a bbl., food and energy prices renoved from the inflation index so you think it's under control,
Michael Jackson and Winkey the runaway bride dominate the news.
Pathetic.

All true. But I should admit that even after all this, I hate FOX more because they cancelled Firefly than anything else. My priorities are a little skewed as well.

Could you explain what FireFly is? They also stopped episodes of Futurama because of being "too silly" ... ...and that was a good alternative to the brilliant Simpsons!

So if your a celebrity any news HAS to be broadcasted on every television station for weeks or even months? geez.. oh yeah, i forgot that everyday on CNN, they talk about Michael Jackson case like it the end of the world (oh my god, Michael Jackson has done it again with these childrens) and yet, other news like health benefits, SS issues, and that damn oil prices has never surface on the tv. Good jobs to the government or news stations for doing storys that only is "entertaining" to watch

I loved Futurama... Come to think of it, I think FOX has axed about 1/2 of my favorite TV shows of all time and since I don't spend a lot of time in front of the TV, that's quite telling. Dark Angel, Futurama, Family Guy, Firefly...
Firefly was basically a sci-fi western, if you can envision that concept. It's what I would consider the ultimate achievement of Joss Whedon, the mastermind behind Buffy and Angel. Those shows weren't everyones cup of tea and I'll admit they were sappy at times, but if you sit down and watch any the dialogue has to be some of the best and wittiest I've heard anywhere else. Firefly is... er, was better than both of those shows combined, in my opinion. Story was 300 years in the future, following the renegade captain of a smuggler ship and some of the colorful crew... A preacher, two fugitives, a high-class prostitute and a professional soldier among others. The western themes came in with the concept of space as the new frontier... Uncolonized fringe planets resembled wide open pastures like those of the western U.S., dotted with small ranches and settlements each with their share of general lawlessness.
Anyway I'm rambling. My point is that the show is the pinnacle of man's achievement and I encourage you to buy or rent the first season on DVD if you're curious or don't believe me. After FOX cancelled it there was such a cult following already that Whedon is going on to produce three feature films based on it with the same cast. The first one, Serenity, is scheduled to come out in September and you can see the trailer on imdb.com I think.
Yeah sorry for the huge tangent. Resume your discussion of the country's favorite basket case.

Didn't I hear in a Manchester newspaper that...
Either Michael Jackson was suing Granada
Michael Jackson was suing Martin Bashir
or Granada suing Martin Bashir
or even Bashir suing Granada?
I am actually confused about this, help me out!

Not real sure on some of your stats and numbers but this statement is true and disturbing and always makes me wonder what "good" stuff we all miss because we just turn off and ignore the bad and therefore the good may no get through.

All of you have to remember that MJ will have to face GOD on judgement day, as we all will.... If he was guilty, he will pay his price as we all will for the sins we have commited while here on Earth....

In my opinion, any adult with a real compulsion to sleep with the minor child of another person is mentally unsound. That's all there is to it.
I'm not going to say "that ruling was B.S." or "he should be getting porked in jail", because the ruling has already passed and disagreeing will not change it. However, I do believe that if Mr. Wacko Jacko is not at least subjected to a full psychiatric examination and maybe even counselling then justice has not been served, period.

Probably nobody, but the court really should. The man already sleeps with children by his own admission, and just because he says it's not sexual doesn't make it wrong. The man also dangled his baby from a balcony, proving that he's lacking in parental responsibility and/or common sense.
The man is obviously not completely sound, mentally, and is a possible deviant. If he doesn't recieve help, nobody knows what could happen in the future.

No one really knows what happened, so why all the hate? Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, who cares. The only productive thing that you can all pray for is that he learned his lesson or some mumbo jumbo like that.
